ADJUTORES DEI
Sto. Niño Cathedral Parish Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro A few recalled events… ~ Adjutores Dei is a Catholic Youth Movement introduced by youth and lay leaders from San Pablo City, Laguna on 24th of October 1980… ~ Aimed at spiritual formation, leadership training, family and peer groups intra-personal relations... ~ Composed of a large member of high school, college students and out-of-school youth (OSY) from all over the province of Oriental Mindoro… ~ Had been a prince church-based organization for young peoples for around thirteen (13) years. In 1993, there was a “ sadden freeze” in the Adjutores Dei’s activities, influenced by the “ one mother-unit” set-up for youth groups implemented by the Diocese. As a result, the movement became inactive for around twelve (12) years. However, it did not die spiritually as there remained dedicated “ ADJUTORIANS” who meet on special occasions. In 2000, a grand celebration of its 20th anniversary was held at Richville Garden Resort, Calapan City bringing in surprisingly long-lost members. By then, most of the adjutorians have their own families which they brought along at the reunion… ~ In the early part of 2005 cosultations were made with the ADJUTORES DEI staff and Rev. Fr. Nestor Adalia, Parish Priest, on the possible inclusion of the traditional seminar-retreat in the youth ministry program for the Sto. Niño Cathedral Parish youth. This eventually gave way to new batches of Adjutorians-3rd year H.S. students of Holy Infant Academy-the first again in 12 years. It was on 18-20 November 2005 and 10-12 February 2006, respectively. Just very recently 10-13 October the 3rd batch with 25 candidates finished the course. This time, the next adjutorians compose high school and college students, osy and young professionals. |
